French language

Madagascar is a Francophone country. Our placements that specialise in French studies are selected for the quality of French spoken locally, and French is needed on a daily level at work in schools and clubs and in social life.

We ask volunteers to give tuition to primary school teachers, using French to explain things. AMI agents speak fluent French, and your conversations with them can be in French. If you speak in French, they speak in French; if you speak in English, the reply will be in English. All placements include English club work with children and adults, it's a great hands-on opportunity to learn about communication, teaching, and language.

For students of Modern Languages/ French doing the Year Abroad, we can provide the required Health and Safety document, and ex-volunteers to verify the French learning experience.
